On Saturday 1st July Chris Phillips will be playing tennis for 11 hours and five minutes non stop in a repeat of the famous John Isner match back in 2010 to raise funds for SECE Mind. Southend United legends Kevin Maher and Steve Tilson are both playing along with Blues defender Ollie Kensdale. Tom Skinner from the Apprentice and Jeff Brazier are also hoping to come down. Sue Barker and Judy Murray have sent messages of support along with our local player Ryan Peniston.
He’ll be playing from 10am until 9pm at Southend Lawn Tennis Club two days before Wimbledon gets underway. The keen player will play different opponents in 22 half hour slots. We all wish Chris the best of Luck!
