Inclusivity
Tennis committed to leading on inclusion and diversity with publication of new LTA Inclusion Strategy
The LTA new inclusion strategy for tennis in Britain is available, with an ambition to lead the way on inclusion and diversity in sport. The national governing body for tennis wants to embed a culture of everyday inclusion within all aspects of the sport, with the ultimate goal being to ensure that people playing, working and volunteering in, and watching tennis reflect the diversity of the nation’s communities. The strategy sets out five key areas of work with 25 commitments to drive change, underpinned by 46 priority actions that will help make the ambition of the strategy a reality. Find out more
Open Court Programme
The Open Court Programme is a national scheme that actively promotes and delivers opportunities for disabled people to get involved in tennis. Partnered with and jointly funded by Sport England, the programme provides disability specific sessions – including learning disability tennis, wheelchair tennis, visually impaired tennis and deaf tennis. We’re also expanding our programme into other long-term health conditions such as mental health and dementia. We work with tennis venues all across the country, putting on a range of activities to improve mental and physical health through increasing opportunities to play, socialise and compete with similar people in the sport.
