After a missed year in 2020 the Essex Junior Championships returned to Thorpe Bay last week and a fabulous week of tennis was had across all age categories from 8u to 18u. With the 18 months that we have all had it was great to see so many juniors out and so many parents watching from the sidelines in what was, on the whole, a lovely week weather wise. There were lots of stand out performances to take note of but a special mention to Otto Friedlein for being named as the ‘Outstanding Player’ of the tournament, not only for his performances in Singles and Doubles finals across multiple age groups but also for his behaviour both on and off the court during the week.
